EVERYDAY MISSION

SESSION THREE

What does an everyday missionary do?

God only sends us to places because those places are filled with people – people he made in his image; people who don’t know or trust him; people who he wants to redeem and who need Jesus. God still calls and empowers you for his mission - but he doesn’t give you a quota to meet!

In this session:

  • Read: Acts 17:16-31

  • Watch 25 minute video

  • Reflect

  • Assignment

Reflect

  • What did you find the most challenging about the topic and discussion? What stood out to you the most?

  • “Our role is simply to steward God’s resources for God’s purposes. Everything he has given you, is a tool for his mission.” What is your initial emotional response to this statement? Do you feel challenged by this or does this excite you? Why do you think that is?

  • What are the obstacles you face when considering how you can “rearrange” your life in order to be an effective everyday missionary? How does this affect your heart, thoughts and joy when we give him priority to say what are the “big stones” (analogy from video) to fill our life’s bucket?

Assignment

Make a list of research categories and questions you are curious about in regards to the statistics and stories of the place where you live. If you want, you can download this “Knowing your Mission Field” guide to help you.
