The Spirit of Justice in The Mission of God
with Jemar Tisby

The Equipping Group’s September 2024 Online Workshop

What does Jesus say about justice - and how does it relate to God’s mission?
How can people still work for change after seeing the worst of humanity and experiencing demoralizing setbacks?
How can God’s people “undertake acts of liberation and bear witness to the good news of their savior”?

The concept of justice, particularly in relation to racism and slavery, is crucial as we consider our mission fields and ways to display and declare the good news of Jesus. The Equipping Group is hosting Dr. Jemar Tisby, historian and author of "The Spirit of Justice," for an online workshop. Dr. Tisby will share real-world examples of opposing racial injustice and inspire us to join the fight for racial justice.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  1. Reflection question #1: how would you apply the concepts of righteousness & justice in the context of race relations in the US today?

  2. Reflection questions #2: What gifts have others affirmed in YOU? Or, what’s a pattern of service/working for the common good that you’ve seen in your life? Or, what activities in your life give you energy? (In other words, what might be your spiritual gift[s] for God’s mission?
